Julio Santiago obtained his degree in Psychology at the University of Granada in 1990. He then entered the Doctorate Program in the Department of Experimental Psychology and Physiology of Behaviour at Granada, and carried out his PhD research on mechanisms of word-form encoding in language production. Around the year 2000, he started doing research on grounded, embedded, and embodied cognition. Currently, he is full professor (Catedrático) at the same department and leads the Grounded Cognition Lab.
