Biography

I was born in Granada, Spain, in 1979. I started studying Physics in 1997, at the University of Granada. In my 3rd year in college, I met Prof. Hernández-Andrés and Prof. Romero, in the Optics course lectures. Later, in 2003, they’d become my Ph.D. directors in the Color Imaging Lab.

I obtained my Ph.D. in multispectral color science in 2007, focusing my dissertation on spectral imaging of skylight. I worked as an Assistant Professor in Granada until February 2008, when I moved to Barcelona and joined the Large Format Printing division in Hewlett-Packard as a color scientist.

In 2016 I left R&D and worked for a short period in the fields of Instructional Design and Training at Intracon Spain, while I also started working as a Color Science consultant for small and medium companies in the Barcelona area.

I currently live in Vancouver WA, after re-joining HP at the end of 2016 as a color and imaging scientist. My wife and our three kids enjoy living in the north west coast, trying to “keep Portland weird”.
