A total of 57,616 people were called upon to vote on election day, which took place between 9am and 7pm on 16 May. Of these, a total of 20,157 people cast their votes through the electronic voting system enabled for this purpose. The turnout rate of 34.99% is the highest ever achieved in elections to the Rectorate held at the University of Granada.
Pedro Mercado Pacheco was elected Rector of the University of Granada with an absolute majority of 53.376% of the weighted votes. The two other candidates running in the elections, Pedro Antonio García López and Francisca López Torrecillas, obtained 30.838% and 15.786% of the weighted votes, respectively.
