Registration open for the international 'Three Minute Thesis' competition

The registration period is open until October 20th.

This contest is aimed at doctoral students and consists of presenting the doctoral thesis in English in less than three minutes, in an informative and entertaining way.

The International School for Postgraduate Studies of the University of Granada is organizing a new edition of the international competition 'Three Minute Thesis', sponsored by the Coimbra Group. Doctoral students interested in participating can now register. The deadline is open until October 20.

The contestants must tell, in less than three minutes, what their doctoral thesis consists of. They must do so in an informative and entertaining way so that the general public can understand it. The interventions are in English and can be accompanied by a single slide. The winner of the UGR edition of this contest will qualify for the international final.

This contest not only includes the participation as such and the public interventions before the jury, but also training sessions are organized to promote communication skills, scientific dissemination and the level of English of the participants.

Three Minute Thesis is based on an idea developed by the University of Queensland (Australia) that has spread to many other universities around the world. Its objective is to develop the scientific communication and dissemination skills of young researchers in training.
