The prices for commercial companies are 3000€ per day of use, with a supplement of 250€/day if you want us to analyze the sample for you, and 375 € per mount (elaboration and documentation)

Who can use IBERSIMS?

IBERSIMS prices for scientists working in public Institutes and Universities

a) SHRIMP use

Using IBERSIMS costs 1200€/per day if you are member of the University of Granada, and 1800€/day if you are not. The number of spots that can be analysed during one day is about 75 for U-Pb dating, about 95-100 for U-Pb reconnoissance studies of detrital zircons (lower counting times because lower precision is required), and about 120-130 for Oxygen isotopes analyses. These number include standards. Typically about 20% of the analysed spots  are standards.

SHRIMP work can be done directly by the user, under the supervision of the IBERSIMS staff, or  you can indicate us what you want to analyze and we shall do it for you. This neither implies any requirement of co-authorship nor involves extra-cost.

b) Sample preparation and documentation

IBERSIMS only accepts mounts prepared in our lab. We only prepare mounts for IBERSIMS. The price is 150 € per mount, if you are member of the University of Granada and 225€ if you are not . This includes full sample documentation, that is, optical reflected and transmitted images, cathodoluminescence images and a navigation map uploadable on the SHRIMP

IBERSIMS prices for commercial companies

Users do not have to be present during the analyses. If they provide us with the spots marked on the sample documentation, the IBERSIMS staff with conduct the analyses. In this case we guarantee that a minimum number of per day analyses is reached, independently if there is any system failure.

Users are however welcome to the lab. Analytical sessions will begin at 9:00 AM under the supervision of one SHRIMP managers. The analyses  can be done either in manual mode  (until 3:00 PM) or automatic (programmed) mode during 24 hours. The SHRIMP manager will advise about the best strategy for each session. If the user conduct the session, we do not guarantee the number of analysis.
